Van: John David Corby

I heard Sputnik 41 (RS-18) at 06:20 ET from my Toronto, Canada listening
post this morning. Although the signal was very weak I clearly heard the
recorded message in French and English ("1998 was the International Year
of Air and Space"). The message is also transmitted in Russian, but I
was unable to hear that.

I was listening on a scanner tuned to 145.815 MHz using a rooftop
discone antenna, and with squelch off (this was necesary since the
signal was "down in the mud").
